Shakera started her professional career off with a bang, helping the Canberra Capitals win the 2019/20 WNBL Championship as a developmental player.

Shakera has become one of the best shooters in the NBL1 and in 2023/24 was upgraded to a full contract with the Canberra Capitals in the WNBL.
