A sharpshooting combo guard, Miela Goodchild is one of the best shooters in Australia.
The 2016 & 2017 QLD youth basketball player of the year made her professional debut as a 15-year-old for QBL team Logan Thunder. In 2017, Miela signed with WNBL side Townsville Fire as a developmental player, who went on to win the WNBL Championship.
Miela has represented Australia on several occasions including a gold medal at the 2016 FIBA Under 17 World Championships, 2017 FIBA Under 17s Oceania Championships, 2018 FIBA Under 18s Asian Championships & the 2019 FIBA Under 19s World Cup.
In 2018, Miela moved over to the US to play college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils, where she had four impressive years including setting a freshman record for made 3s.
This impressive stint saw Miela return home and sign with the Melbourne Boomers for the 2022/23 WNBL season. After a year in Melbourne, Miela signed with the Perth Lynx for the 203/24 WNBL season and represented Australia in 3X3.
