A four-time Olympian, Laura Hodges has had an incredible impact on women’s basketball in Australia.

Earning herself a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport in 2000, Laura made the most of the opportunity, winning the WNBL rookie of the year award for the 2000/01 season. After two seasons at the AIS, Laura signed with the Adelaide Lightning in 2002. 

In 2004, Laura was a pivotal part of Australia’s Silver Medal performance at the Athens Olympics, her first Olympic appearancebefore returning to the Adelaide Lightning where she continued to dominate the WNBL. In 2006, Laura made the move over to the USA to play for the Connecticut Suns in the WNBA. 

In 2006, Laura won Gold for Australia at the FIBA World Championships in Brazil and at the Commonwealth Games before making the move over to Italy, signing with Italian side Taranto Cras Basket until 2008. Laura then returned to her representative for Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Following the Beijing Olympics, Laura returned to Italy in 2008 signing with Basket Parma and then Bracco Geas Basket in 2010.

In 2012, Laura went to her third Olympics at the London Olympics where the team won bronze. Following her Olympic campaign, Laura returned home to play in the WNBL for the Adelaide Lightning for the 2012/13 season.

Laura signed with French basketball team Bourges Basket in 2014 for 2 seasons before heading to her fourth Olympic games in Rio in 2016.
