Laura Hodges

After claiming the 2001 Betty Watson WNBL Rookie of the Year at 18, Hodges was quickly thrust onto the international stage, part of the Jayco Australian Opals bronze medal-winning squad at the 2002 FIBA World Championships at the age of 19.

Laura claimed a first Olympic Games medal (silver) in Athens before a glorious 2006 that brought FIBA World Championship and Commonwealth Games gold. At the height of her strength, Laura went to the WNBA, linking up with the Connecticut Sun for two seasons in 2005-2006 before moving to Italy where she became a regular fixture over the next six seasons with Taranto, Parma and Bracco Geas and in that time travelling to two more Olympics in 2008 and 2012.
