Lara McSpadden

One of Australian Basketball’s new generation Lara McSpadden has an extremely bright future in the game. A defensive stopper at the centre position Lara is an extremely tough match up at the offensive end as she can stretch the floor and knock down shots from the beyond the arc.

Breaking onto the international representative scene as a 15-year-old, Lara had her first taste of Gold at the 2015 FIBA Oceania U16 Championships in New Zealand. The following year, Lara became a two-time Junior Gold Medalist when the U17 Sapphires were victorious at the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship in Spain. Stellar performances at the tournaments caught the eye of the Sydney Uni Flames, where she signed in 2016.

After four seasons at Sydney Uni Lara inked a new deal with the Townsville Fire for the 2020/21 season.

Lara became a two-time WNBL Champion during her third year in Townsville, with her side winning the WNBL 22/23 Championship. Following this championship run, Lara signed with the Sydney Flames for the 2023/24 WNBL season.
